Now that Jesse Williams has been made a ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ regular, with whom might they pair the very eligible Dr. Jackson Avery?

In this video Q&A with Fancast, Williams weighs the dashing doc’s many options – including a possible rekindling of that little “something” he shared with Cristina Yang (played by Sandra Oh) shortly after Mercy West merged with Seattle Grace.

“It could resurface,” Williams offers, noting that what Avery and Yang shared was not simply base desire for each other, but something deeper.

“It’s more of a parallel respect,” he says. “Even when he was trying to woo her, drunkenly at that party, it was about the work they had done that day.”

Williams also shares his take on which of SGH’s finest has been hit hard by the shocking events of the season finale, and reveals how everyone’s career now lies in the (assuredly rugged) hands of a trauma counselor being played by James Tupper (’Men In Trees’). “He can clear us for surgery, or keep us languishing kind of in purgatory,” says the actor.
