Il personaggio di Derek sarà ancora allo scuro dell'aborto di Meredith e secondo l'attore Patrick Dempsey il suo personaggio sarà devastato quando verrà a sapere la notizia, ma questo lo porterà certamente a volere un figlio il prima possibile. Inoltre Derek lascerà ufficialmente il ruolo di capo annunciando la restituzione del testimone a Webber in una riunione dicendo che il ruolo non gli è mai piaciuto.
Adesso cìè una cosa che non mi è chiara. Derek non ha mai voluto fare il capo? Ma se è uno dei motivi che lo hanno portato a lavorare per il Seattle Grace! Posso capire se dal discorso emerge che non gli piace COME ha assunto il ruolo di capo, che è pronto a rivestire la carica solo quando Webber sarà effettivamente pronto alla pensione. Oppure mi va bene anche un Derek che si rende conto che in fin dei conti essere il capo non gli piace, era una cosa che desiderava è vero, ma una volta ottenuta si è reso effettivamente di cosa comporta.
La notizia che Teddy avrà una storia, momentanea o duratura ancora è da vedere, con il terapeuta Andrew è stata messa in tutte le salse, credo che siano stati finiti i sinonimi e le frasi alternative per dare questa informazione cercando di essere il meno ripetitivi possibile. La Teddy comunque non starà tanto sull'alabero a cantare e subito nel primo episodio si bacerà il terapeuta anche se avrà dei dubbi, infatti si chiederà se lo stare bene con Andrew derivi solo dal fatto che lui è un terapeuta e che quindi ci sappia fare.
La notiziona della settimana però è che ci sarà un matrimonio subito nel primo episodio, i candidati allo scambio degli anelli sono: Callie/Arizona, Lexie/Alex e Cristina/Owen. Tutte le coppie hanno più motivi per non sposarsi che per sposarsi. Questo matrimonio ci permetterà anche di vedere/rivedere uno o due dei parenti degli sposini.
I vari attori dicono la loro sul perchè la loro coppia può o non può essere quella dello scambio degli anelli, e come sempre dicono tanto e non dicono niente. Personalmente scarto subito dalla rosa dei tre la coppia Lexie/Alex, tra le due rimanenti in gara punterei tutto su Callie e Arizona perchè credo che siano le più pronte a compiere il grade passo.
Callie Arizona: la coppia seguirà i passi di chi è in una relazione seria ed importante, ma non scordiamo che Callie è già stata vittima di un matrimonio frettoloso e Arizona non sembra il tipo che le cose se non è perfettamente sicura.
Lexie Alex: Lexie soffrirà di una grave crisi nervosa e la sorellona Meredith sarà al suo fianco, mentre Alex sarà contento di tenere il proiettile nel petto perchè lo potrà mostare come se fosse un terzo capezzolo. Per quanto riguarda la possibilità che siano la coppia che si sposa dobbiamo ammettere che si fa fatica a considerarli una coppia, anche se Alex sarebbe pronto ad un nuovo matrimonio nel caso in cui Lexie aspettasse un bambino
Cristina Owen: sono decisamente pronti per il passo successivo ed il matrimonio potrebbe essere il loro, ma ricordiamo che da quando si sono conosciuti ne hanno passate tante, anche Cristina soffrirà per gli eventi che hanno concluso la sesta stagione e certamente il suo non matrimonio con Burke non la aiuta a desiderare di correre a comprare l'abito bianco.

Derek Steps Down as Chief
In the September 23 premiere, scenes will flash back to post-trauma therapy sessions held a few weeks after the shootings, then jump ahead about two months. Derek (Patrick Dempsey) is released from the hospital, still unaware of Meredith’s pregnancy and miscarriage. “I think he’ll be devastated,” says Patrick. “Seeing how quick life can be, I think they’ll want to have a child even more. Why not create a life before you lose your own?” To that end, Derek calls a staff meeting to announce he never enjoyed being chief and is returning the reins to Dr. Webber. “He’s still in mourning over the loss of the staffers [in the shoot-out] and feels responsible, which is why he steps down,” adds Patrick. “It’s much better having the dynamic the way it was.”
Teddy’s New Guy
With the Owen/Cristina/Teddy love triangle over, Teddy (Kim Raver) won’t waste any time cuddling up to the hospital’s new trauma counselor, Dr. Andrew Perkins (James Tupper). “I make out with him in Episode 1,” says a tickled Kim. “It was just like it was with Kiefer [Sutherland] on 24, where we met and had to kiss. Teddy’s going to wonder if she’s feeling so good in the relationship just because he’s a therapist.”
They Do! But Who?
One of these couples gets engaged and married in the premiere. Try to figure out who, based on these clues from the cast. And look for at least one or two of the parents of the betrothed to turn up for the nuptials.
Callie and Arizona?
“The relationship takes the steps you take as you get deeper involved with someone,” hints Sara Ramirez (Callie). “But Callie’s been married, so that could pose an issue.” Adds Jessica Capshaw (Arizona), “I don’t see Arizona entering into anything that’s not ironclad.”
Alex and Lexie?
Lexie suffered a breakdown and big sis Meredith is helping her cope. Alex opted to keep his near-fatal bullet inside his chest “to show off to the girls like a third nipple,” says Justin Chambers (Alex). They’re hardly a couple ready for marriage, though Justin says Alex would marry Lexie if he “knocked her up.”
Owen and Cristina?
“They definitely take it to the next level,” teases Kevin McKidd (Owen). “The wedding could easily be them.” But Cristina will be dealing with post-traumatic stress — not a good time to go dress shopping. “They’ve been through a huge amount in two seasons,” notes Kevin, “and I think Cristina felt burned by her last wedding [to Burke].”
